Is it worth taking optometry as a career?

Sure it's worth it, an Optometry certificate can be acquired through BSc optometry colleges in Kerala. If you want to complete it as a diploma in Optometry course you can do so. for further studies you can choose higher options such as MSc or Ph.D.

Optometry degree and diploma courses may be a good career for many reasons and my list is as follows:

It is a profession that has a high rise in its demand. Although there are many new colleges opened and many students are being graduated on an annual basis because of this there still remains many parts that are in need of optometrists.

There are many various types of optometry one can specialize in or niches that can be filled within a clinical or specialized setting.

you've got general optometry or family practice optometry, low vision practice, developmental optometry or sight, pediatrics, geriatrics, and this list really goes on and on.

Furthermore, one also can work in a non-clinical setting as well such as a lecturer, researcher, or consultant.

You get plenty one of one time with patients. Because of this, you'll develop many lasting and rewarding patient/doctor relationships over the years especially if you work in a small community.

I've heard many various reports on average starting salaries, but I feel this can differ greatly depending on where you decide to practice because of the average cost of living and in which type of setting you, at last, get into. Overall, my best guess for a mean starting salary based on my experience is around 90–100k. Thereupon said many doctors of optometry will greatly exceed that after just a couple of years in practice or once they start working for themselves.

There are many courses like degrees, post-graduate degrees, and diploma courses for those who are interested to learn and practicing in the future. There are many BSc optometry colleges in Kerala that offer different programs in the same field. Rayhan college of optometry is one such among them. There are many opportunities to offer back to the community through public service initiatives or even internationally through mission trips with organizations such as VOSH.

It is a very family-friendly career in that many employed optometrists can work part-time if necessary to meet family obligations and many optometrists, especially in corporate settings, aren't required to offer on-call hours.

Between the various mission trips and continuing education opportunities offered worldwide, there are many opportunities to work out the world and experience different cultures.

Finally, for me, this profession really satisfies the nerd in me due to the fact that the eye is such an amazing and intriguing part of the body to learn about. The recent knowledge and advanced improvement in eyecare just continuously fill more so you always need to learn and increase your understanding of your profession. If you are interested then come and join the best BSc optometry colleges in Kerala

This would be my overall list, but I'm sure many others could definitely cut in with reasons I haven't mentioned. I hope this answer finds you well.
